Bio

Kevin EG Perry is a writer.

He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, where he was Executive Editor of the student newspaper, The Beaver. Back issues are archived online at the LSE Digital Library. He later studied journalism on the NCTJ course at Lambeth College.

He was shortlisted for The Guardian’s International Development Journalism Award in 2009.

From 2010-2011 he spent a year living and working in Koraput, Orissa in the east of India with VSO. His foreign correspondence appeared in The Guardian and New Internationalist as well as on behalf of UNICEF, Oxfam, VSO, the Fairtrade Foundation and the World Health Organisation.

From 2012-2013 he was Assistant Editor of NME.com.

In 2021 he was hired as a Los Angeles-based Culture & Lifestyle Feature Writer for The Independent.

His piece about the Vanity Fair Oscars party was shortlisted for Best Celebrity Feature at the LA Press Club’s National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards in 2025.
